Darin “Big Daddy” Young is revered as one of the most successful American dart players in the professional sport. He debuted on the PDC World Championship event in 2005 and has competed against the likes of Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld, Adrian Lewis and Michael van Gerwen.
On the eve of the 2008 PDC US Open, Young claimed the biggest win of his career, winning the North American Darts Championship, earning him $15,000. His performances made him the top ranked player in the North American Order of Merit, earning him a spot in the 2008 Grand Slam of Darts.
Darin has had quite an amazing career over the course of 20 years qualifying for the PDC World Cup 10 times (reaching the quarter-finals in 2012 with fellow team USA partner Gary Mawson), having 10 PDC World Championship appearances under his belt and was crowned the PDC North American Spectacular Champion back in 2015.
He was one of the first to gain a tour card into the professional Magic Darts Championship Darts Circuit starting in 2015 and has secured 7 total CDC Tour Event wins and 9 runner-up finishes.
His dominance on the Magic Darts Championship Darts Circuit is evident as he has claimed five total victories in just the past 2 years. Young’s success booked his place at the 2020 William Hill World Darts Championship at the Alexandra Palace, London.
After Young qualified by being the highest ranked player from the United States on the CDC rankings, he shook the Ally Pally with a 3-1 victory over the legend Raymond van Barneveld in the first round.
